Rob Duquette – World Music

April 20 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

world music

Through his many years of experience playing and teaching world music, Rob brings a fun and culturally rich presentation of world music styles to young students, showing them through percussion, how the different styles are built and what they mean to their cultures, and in turn, to ours!  Children and adults, participate with world music rhythms and concepts made accessible to their age group.  Through percussion we can learn about culture!

Rob Duquette is a multi-instrumentalist musician with an emphasis on drums and percussion. A full time performer and music educator since 1998, Rob maintains an active gigging career splitting most of his time between Boston, Portland, Maine, and his own Gameroom Studios in Saco, Maine where he regularly teaches drums, percussion, and guitar. A classically trained percussionist, Rob also teaches World Music, African Drumming, and American Popular Music at the University of New England. Rob’s programs for children incorporate world musical genres and infuses important lessons about kindness, empathy and environmental responsibility.  He’s got a few songs that are just plain silly too…..
