An Open Reading of African American Poetry
In celebration of Black History Month, the Belfast Free Library will present “All Our Black Voices,” a community-wide gathering of poets and friends to read from their favorite works of African American poets, in the Abbott Room of the library.
Open to all, the event will include local poets and past Belfast poets laureate presenting selected works by such greats as Lucille Clifton, Yusef Komunyakaa, Amiri Baraka, Ntozake Shange, Sonia Sanchez, Gregory Pardlo, June Jordan, and many riches more. Everyone is welcome to join and add to the celebration by sharing their favorite African American poet or poem.
This literary celebration of some of our greatest poets is free and open to the public.
