The BFL Teen Room welcomes all young people ages 11 – 17. Designed with the help of a local Teen Advisory Board, this multipurpose area includes our Young Adult book collection, computers, and comfortable places to work and socialize.


 

Summer Reading for Teens

2024 Children’s and Teen Summer Reading Program  READ, RENEW, REPEAT!

Presented by the Belfast Free Library's Youth Services ~ For Children and Teens

Free events and a game board to record your reading and win prizes!

Thursday, June 20 through Wednesday, August 14.

Visit  the second floor of the Belfast Free Library during business hours to receive a game board, a reading log and a list of free events for children and teens.

You will mark your progress on your game board and at five stops on the game, you will win a prize and a raffle ticket .

You have until August 14 to collect your prizes and submit up to five raffle tickets.

Call For Artists

~Do you draw, paint, sculpt, quilt, or do any kind of art or craft?  Are you 11-17?  Do you want your art framed and displayed in the YA Gallery of the Belfast Free Library?  If you do, please contact [email protected], or speak with a staff member on the second floor of the library!!  Get your art out there, because you are a genius and people deserve to see your work!!!

~Beeswax Collage for Teens

Belfast Summer Reading invites you to learn a painting technique called encaustic painting/collage, in which pigments are mixed with hot liquid wax. You will leave with your very own encaustic painting/collage and a new found love of beeswax!

New Teen Books

Access free audiobooks and ebooks with your library card through Maine's Cloud Library.

At this time BFL patrons have free access to all of the great resources through Tumblebooks, too! These databases offer hundreds of interactive books that read to your child. More audiobooks are available through their AudioBookCloud. Check out the Tumblemath e-books database, too.
