The BFL Teen Room welcomes all young people ages 11 – 17. Designed with the help of a local Teen Advisory Board, this multipurpose area includes our Young Adult book collection, computers, and comfortable places to work and socialize.

~Do you draw, paint, sculpt, quilt, or do any kind of art or craft?  Are you 11-17?  Do you want your art framed and displayed in the YA Gallery of the Belfast Free Library?  If you do, please contact [email protected], or speak with a staff member on the second floor of the library!!  Get your art out there, because you are a genius and people deserve to see your work!!!

Origami Club

Teens 11-17 are invited to join Origami Club. Each month we will be learning a new fold! Snacks provided.

Duct Tape Jewelry Making

Come and learn how to make duct tape jewelry and then make a few of your own! All supplies will be provided!! Snacks provided!

Wire Sculpture for Teens

Belfast Youth Services invites you to make a wire sculpture! We will be playing with minimalist wire sculpture technique, but anything goes! If you are feeling something take shape, I suggest you make it!

Tarot Deck Group

Teens 11-17, come be part of our tarot deck making group!  You will choose your art style, and card fronts, and then start creation of your very own tarot deck! Tarot deck making takes a bit of time and we don't want to rush it!  This being said, Tarot Deck Group is an ongoing group!  

Please come and try it out!  You will find an inclusive group of teens who love making art and talking about tarot!!

Encaustic Painting

Belfast Youth Services invites you to learn a painting technique called encaustic painting, in which pigments are mixed with hot liquid wax. You will leave with your very own encaustic painting and a new found love of beeswax!

New Teen Books

Access free audiobooks and ebooks with your library card through Maine's Cloud Library.

At this time BFL patrons have free access to all of the great resources through Tumblebooks, too! These databases offer hundreds of interactive books that read to your child. More audiobooks are available through their AudioBookCloud. Check out the Tumblemath e-books database, too.
