How to Support the Library
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library is a group of individuals concerned with the welfare of the Belfast Free Library. Friends freely donate their time to promote the growth of the Library as a cultural, educational and recreational center. Members are interested in the Library, books and the continuing education of Waldo County citizens.
To become a member of the Friends of the Belfast Free Library, please ask for a membership application at the Circulation Desk.
Gifts to the Library are always appreciated. All donated books are evaluated for their appropriateness for adding to the collection. Books will either be kept by the Library or given to the Friends for use in their fund-raising activities.
The library encourages contributions to the library for purposes that will help it to further and fulfill its mission. The Board of Trustees and the staff welcome current and deferred contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and associations to secure the future growth and mission of the library.
A Memorial Gift is a thoughtful way to remember and honor an individual. The Library Director will be pleased to consult with potential donors of Memorial Gifts to determine the most appropriate use of a contribution.
