Art Explorations
March 11, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
On Wed., March 11, from 1-3, the Art Explorations Group @ the Belfast Free Library will host Teen Librarian Logan Clark, who will show how to create a box from a re-purposed hardcover book. Logan is repeating a workshop she gave to library teens. Book pages will be cut into, creating a “secret” space for treasures. They can be left as-is, to be inconspicuous, or embellished with participants’ own materials.
Art Explorations is a group that meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at the Belfast Free Library. Participants share various techniques, ideas and materials. Meetings begin with the group sharing recent events from their artistic journeys. Participants don’t critique, but they do enthusiastically encourage one another. Past activities have included presentations by members of the group and by guest artists, often followed by hands-on activities.
Art Exploration meetings at the Belfast Free Library are free and open to the public. However, for the March 11 DIY Book to Box session. pre-registration is strongly advised as the group size will be limited.
