Belfast Co-op Food Preservation Class.

Join us for a FREE class on canning and preserve your harvest! The class is led by Belfast Coop’s Mickey McDevitt. Mickey strives to live in a world surrounded by piles of dark chocolate, cats, and throwback details that hark back to days gone by. As a gardening enthusiast, she enrolled herself into the Oregon State University Master Gardener Program focusing on home garden food-scaping. In a effort to preserve the harvest, she eagerly returned to the OSU extension program to become a Master Food Preserver. When she is not in the garden, you’ll find her attempting to master some “lost-art” that’s caught her attention or adding to the already massive stock pile of Pate Brisee (just in case).While she doesn’t consider herself quite a “Master” of food preservation just yet, she strives to learn more about best practices every day and is always eager to engage in a conversation about capturing Maine’s generous bounty.
