Students Grace Hall, Jonah Lovejoy, and Chelsea Gaiero, will make separate short presentations about research they have conducted over the past year as part of the Maine State Science Fair as well as citizen science projects. Topics include effects of temperature on embryonic fish development, abundance and distribution of green crabs, using green crabs as lobster bait, and the installation of a water level sensor in Belfast Harbor.
Dave Thomas, their science teacher, has taught high school science in four public high schools in New York, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Maine over the past 20 years. He teaches Advanced Placement Enviromental Science and coaches students in extracurricular science competitions.
