Wild Child is a hands on interactive series developed to get kids and families outdoors! With the right tools and knowledge anyone can get out and have a safe and enjoyable experience. The programs are free and open to all.
The series will be presented by outdoor educator and Maine Guide Nancy Zane.
March 1: Children & the Outdoors: How to get started, where to go, what to bring, what to do, when to go….why bother!
March 8: Safety: how not to get wet or lost: guidebooks, survival kits, weather, basic navigation and map reading.
March 22:Dress for success: Clothing & equipment to keep you comfortable: Layering, colors, tents, sleeping bags, boots, backpacks, boats, purchasing.
March 29: Burns, blisters cuts & scrapes: first aid kits, caring for minor bumps and blisters.
