Tootsie (1982) How far will an actor go to restart his career? Michael Dorsey, superbly played by Dustin Hoffman, is a talented actor. But he’s also volatile and extremely difficult to work with. Consequently no one will hire him. He needs a “makeover.” Solution? Dress up as a woman and audition for a female role on a trashy soap opera. He gets the role – and a lot more than he bargained for.
