Growing Rice in Maine

Ben Rooney from Wild Folk Farm in Benton, Maine will give a presentation about how they are succeeding at growing rice in Maine. Wild Folk Farm is entering their 4th season of production and hope to grow 3000-4000 pounds of rice this season. Through the Maine Rice Project they are continually testing new growing techniques, trialing new seeds and striving to grow more rice to market in Maine. Besides hearing of their tribulations, successes and possible futures, attendees will learn a bit about wetland creation and ways you can help out!
