Jumpstart Your Writing!

Are you making a New Year’s resolution to work more on your creative writing? Or maybe you have wanted to do so for a long time. Perhaps you have a writing project that is stalled, or a great idea you just can’t get started. “Jumpstart Your Writing in the New Year,” a two-day workshop offered by the Belfast Free Library with teacher Linda Buckmaster, will give you a boost in the right direction. The class will meet Saturdays, January 9 and 16 from 10:00 to noon. Registration by January 3 is required.

The workshop will be influenced by the “Four Noble Truths of Writing” as developed by Buddhist nun, therapist and teacher Gail Sher. Writing prompts and exercises will get students writing, and we will look at the work of published authors for inspiration and examples of craft. You will get a start on material you may develop beyond the class.
The free program is open to writers and wannabe writers who will write in any genre. Class size is limited to 12.
