Peace and Social Justice Forum /Waldo County Announces Program Change
 Regretfully, Doug Rawlings, from Veterans for Peace has had to cancel due to a family medical emergency. We will be rescheduling Doug’s presentation on his Return Journey to Vietnam when he is available.
Fortunately for all of us, local activist Ridgely Fuller has agreed to give a presentation on her involvement with international Peace activists in Palestine during the Siege of Gaza in 2010-2011, and her time spent working with children in Gaza. Ridgely was on the U.S. ship AUDACITY OF HOPE in June, 2011 when peace activists from around the world left multiple ports to sail to Gaza to create a Humanitarian Flotilla. Their aim was to challenge Israel’s embargo of the Gaza Strip and to deliver aid to the people of Gaza, already suffering from isolation and lack of food, medicine and supplies resulting from the blockade.
What we are seeing in Gaza today is devastating and catastrophic; Ridgely’s presentation will offer historical context for both the siege on Gaza we are witnessing, and international resistance and solidarity. Please join us in the Abbott Room at the Belfast Free Library this Wednesday at 6 pm for this timely presentation.
