Why Outsourcing to India is So Prevalent- with Erik Klausmeyer

In this talk, Erik will share with us the genesis of outsourcing work from the West (US and Europe) to India. We will delve into the historical underpinnings of this global outsourcing revolution, dating back to the late 1990’s. We’ll explore how economic dynamics, changing policies in both the West and India, technological breakthroughs, and the pursuit of cost-savings converged to shape India as a prominent outsourcing destination. We’ll also focus on the profound socio-economic and cultural impacts of this transformation on the people of India, as their lives and communities have become forever shaped by this global phenomenon.
