“Winter is Coming! How Animals Prepare and Interesting Survival Strategies” Slideshow Talk with Sandra Mitchell

Friends of Sears Island and the Belfast Free Library will co-sponsor a presentation titled “Winter is Coming! How Animals Prepare and Interesting Survival Strategies,” by Sandra Mitchell on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30pm at the Belfast Free Library. Did you know that some dragonfly species migrate like birds, that wood frogs freeze solid for the winter, or that multiple species of snakes will often hibernate together? Sandra will discuss the fascinating ways different animals have adapted to survive the winter. Sandra Mitchell is a Registered Maine Guide and an avid amateur naturalist. She is a Certified CyberTracker, and enjoys investigating natural mysteries. Her website is https://www.wildlynxnature.com/.
