Find out how seaweed is the foundation of life in the ocean and how we use seaweed in our everyday life.  Students will also make mini lava lamps from seaweed based substances to take home. Content is prepared for birth through age 2.  First 20 minutes are rhymes, songs and literacy followed by play time and social time with bubbles.  

Join Maine 4-H and staff from Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences to explore why our oceans take on certain hues. Participants will explore the science behind ocean colors and practice sampling techniques used by researchers. ~Free event for ages 6-12. Space is limited to 30children. ~Registration is required.
