CELEBRATE NATIONAL POETRY MONTH & EARTH DAY!
This April, celebrate poetry & our earth by writing a short poem--a haiku or two-line--for the "Poet Tree" in the BFL Teen Room! There will be prizes for the strongest poem, the runner-up, and for a poem selected by random drawing (everyone who writes a poem will be entered into the drawing). Cards for writing the poems will be provided.

Learn how to take better pictures! Local photographer Rachel Epperly will lead a hands-on workshop for teens, demonstrating tips and techniques for taking better pictures. Rachel Epperly is a self-taught photographer and videographer based in Belfast, Maine. Her work ranges from portraiture to product photography, music videos (you may have seen her most recent "Belfast, Maine" video for the Leaky Boot Jug Band) to promotion shorts. QUILLS: A CREATIVE WRITING & CREATIVITY CLUB!
Do you enjoy writing stories, poems, letters, or short nonfiction? Do you like to create characters, draw scenes, make believable (out of the unbelievable) plots? Join Quills! We'll have fun with creative writing, drawing activities and exercises. We'll polish our skills as story writers, poets, observers of the real, and writers of the real and the imaginary. We'll also sketch & doodle (and when the weather warms up, get outside and take pictures--maybe even write, sketch, & doodle outside)! It's true! Join us for out next meeting on Friday, May 11th @ 4pm in the third floor conference room.
