“Butterfly Guy” Jerry Schneider

Belfast Free Library welcomes “Butterfly Guy” Jerry Schneider on Thursday, June 29 at 4:30 PM for a wonderful program about butterflies. Schneider, a Vermont native, has performed nature programs for the past ten years throughout the Northeast, the Midwest, and along the Atlantic Seaboard. In a wonderful slide show presentation, we will learn interesting characteristics about butterflies, good places to find them, their life cycle, what to do with caterpillars when we find them, and how to attract butterflies into our own yards and gardens. We will also learn about the amazing monarch migration with photos of monarchs in Mexico.

Participants will also create butterfly themed fabric art. If you have a plain t-shirt, any color except blue or black, you can bring it along. Otherwise a cotton flour sack tea towel will be provided free of charge or t-shirts will be available for purchase.
