Scot Cannon – Mime, Music & Movement

January 26, 2018 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Mime, Music & Movement January Workshop series with Scot Cannon

Scot Canon is a talented mime, musician, and a dedicated educator. He has been teaching and inspiring young people for over 40 years.

On Fridays in January, Scot will lead a Mime, Music & Movement Workshop Series at the Belfast Free Library. Learn how some of the basic mime illusions work along with mime storytelling , stretching and stagecraft. Sing along with Scot’s “Baby Guitar” song and some of his food songs like “The Cookie Song”. Participants will also get to write, record and perform an original song during the four sessions. Everyone will have a chance to show what they have learned in a final session presentation. There is so much in store — tell some funny stories, solve problems and eat invisible fruit. What else could you ask for? Scot will encourage kids to find “Two Things You Love” to do, like Scot found Mime & Music. A great place to start!

Come ready to move, sing, laugh and learn. Please wear comfortable clothing. You might have to roll on the floor, leap into the air, or anything in between! Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Belfast Free Library – Fridays, January 5, 12, 19 &26 from 3:30-4:30. All library programs are free and open to the public. For more information 207-338-3884 ext. 24.
